Application and Selection Process

The Peace Fund is working with an ongoing application and selection process. The fund aims to support local initiatives which focus on youth development in connection with peace building and conflict transformation.

Financial mechanisms
The Peace Fund finances measures in the following ways:

(1) Providing subsidies to local registered non-profit organisations to implement their activities nationwide with funding volume up to 20.000 $ or more

Application form
To apply for available funding, it is necessary that interested organisations submit completed application forms, according to the requirements of the Peace Fund.

Steering Committee
Proposals are evaluated and presented to the Steering Committee for final approval. Proposals will be evaluated in terms of their concordance with the overall objectives of the Peace Fund and according to how they support the implementation of the National Policy of Youth in Timor-Leste. The committee then decides upon awarded contracts.

Local subsidy contract
Once a proposal is approved by the Steering Committee, a local subsidy contract is concluded between the implementing organisation and the GIZ on behalf of the Peace Fund project, in which both parties agree on the terms of the project’s implementation, as well as the overall subsidy provided.
